A structured process
Innovation can have direct and indirect impacts on society, the environment and the economy. For this reason, Alperia has adopted a broad approach to innovation, encompassing not only R&D but also the continuous improvement of its business processes and the supporting IT systems. We steer our activities by taking economic, environmental and social impacts into account, using dedicated criteria and monitoring tools. Read our Sustainability Report.
Alperia has also introduced a structured process for managing innovation projects, including the monitoring of impacts arising from collaboration with other organisations. This process sets out how the various project phases are to be carried out from an end-to-end perspective, from conception and feasibility assessment through to implementation and completion. It is supported by a proprietary software tool developed by the Group, which facilitates data collection and monitoring. This information is then periodically summarised in management reports presenting the main KPIs on project performance.
Furthermore, Alperia has incorporated the monitoring of external costs and internal resources allocated to these projects into its management control system, so that economic data is also available for each project.
